Thermatic Technical FM acquires PDS Drainage Solutions
As one of the UK’s leading facilities management providers, Thermatic Technical FM has always had a robust strategic growth strategy in place. As part of that, we have acquired PDS Draining Solutions, strengthening our national delivery and in-house range of drainage services. This further enables us to provide a rapid response to all aspects of drainage maintenance, investigation, and repairs, anywhere within the UK.
All PDS employees will join Thermatic’s existing drainage division, combining with its extensive fleet and equipment, consisting of jet vac tankers, high pressure jetting equipment, CCTV equipment and drain line technology.
This acquisition – effective from August 1st 2023 – expands our technical self-delivery capabilities and supplements our Hard Facility Management offering in the UK. It also marks our second major transaction following the purchase of a critical ventilation business in 2019, and forms part of our ambition to deliver more for current and prospective customers in both private and public sectors.
“This is the right company in the right market at a great time for us,” said Jack Prady, Managing Director, Thermatic Technical FM. “This acquisition will strengthen our ability to meet the increasing demand for further strategic Drainage support to our current customer base. Furthermore, the acquisition will enhance our offering in the Hard FM space and present unrivalled capability as we continue to cement our footprint in the Technical FM space”.
Established over 25 years ago, PDS has a fantastic story and has cemented a strong position in the commercial drainage market in the UK. Continuing to focus on health and safety, quality, and first-time fix, PDS has built a stable customer base centred around responsiveness, reliability, and trust.
Jack continues his thoughts on the acquisition:
“During the initial exploratory meetings, PDS presented strong alignment with our values and ambitions. Both the people and products they have created are unique in the marketplace and we’re absolutely delighted to bring them into the Thermatic Technical FM family. We expect strong synergies with our operating model and look forward to providing additional central support to give PDS a wider platform to grow.”
Steven Partington, Drainage Director at PDS, echoed this sentiment: “This is a really exciting time for PDS and becoming part of the Thermatic family is a great move for the business. The acquisition provides PDS with new opportunities and will enhance the Thermatic brand within the drainage industry. From the initial meeting with Thermatic it felt right, the people and the vision they share for the future was a big driver for my decision. I now look forward to a bright future with Thermatic.”
